Our Assistant to the Pastor

Pastor Dan Calvo

I was born and raised in Havana, Cuba, and my path into ministry began through translation work. I got my start as a translator for the Heavenly Doctrines Publishing Foundation and have worked as an editor on the Spanish translations of the Heavenly Doctrines, including an ongoing translation of Secrets of Heaven. I graduated from Bryn Athyn College with a Cum Laude bachelor’s degree in Religion, with minors in history and English. After completing the Master of Divinity program at Bryn Athyn College, I was ordained into the priesthood of the General Church of the New Jerusalem in 2025.

I began serving in the Pittsburgh New Church in the fall of 2025 as Assistant to the Pastor, where I preach, teach at the school, and offer pastoral care whenever it is needed.

I look forward to working and growing alongside this congregation, as together we strive to live out the doctrines of love to the neighbor that the Lord teaches in His Word.
