The soups in the soup bank are there for anyone who’s going through a rough time or needs a meal, whether they’re from the church or from the surrounding community. The soup bank team cooks in the church kitchen on the second Sunday of every month, and you’re welcome to join them if you wish to.

From time to time we hold cleanup events in parks and other public places. This is a great way to work together as a congregation, and a great way to introduce kids to charitable service.

We gather at the Breezeway Home from 10-11 am on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month for a deep dive into the Word. Various topics are covered and everyone is welcome!

This cheerful, social event features both a potluck dinner and a discussion of a topic from the Word. The class takes place at 6:30 pm on the third Thursday of every month, and is held in the homes of various members of the congregation. The location is always published in the weekly email—please contact us if you would like that information.

Most of our Sunday services begin with a simple children’s talk; when this talk is over the children head to one of our classrooms for a Sunday School lesson. These lessons are geared towards preschool and elementary-school-aged children. They’re designed to help the children learn the stories of the Word, and usually involve a craft or activity of some kind.

Teenagers are mostly encouraged to stay in the sanctuary and listen to the sermon with their parents; but once a month the Sunday School program runs a discussion-based class for teenagers, which takes place alongside the regular Sunday School lesson (i.e. while the adults are listening to the sermon).

The PNC Teen Program is a volunteer-supported, Pastor-led outreach arm of the Pittsburgh New Church geared toward 8th-12th graders in the Pittsburgh New Church and/or Pittsburgh New Church School communities.

The program is structured around monthly gatherings, local service projects, fun outings, and weekend adventures with other New Church youth groups, all designed to combine fun, food, and discussion of subjects relating to religious life in a way that is both relevant and meaningful to teens.
